Yiddishe Lieder (Yiddish Folk Songs) are arguably the most genuine expression of the soul of Ashkanaz Jews. Although Cantor Moshe Koussevitsky, one of the greatest cantors of his generation, frequently included these songs in his concert tours around the world, this was his first album dedicated entirely to the art form. Selections include "Leider Krantz", a medley of 25 folk songs by Leo Low, and "A Chaz'n Mit a Gabai", a traditional folk song arranged by Cantor Koussevitsky.
